Photo Coverage: James Lapine Honored at the SDCF's Mr. Abbott Awards Cocktail Reception

Acclaimed Director James Lapine was honored with the 2015 "Mr. Abbott" Award for the outstanding artistry and creativity of his forty-year (and counting) career last night, October 19th.
The Award was presented at a gala event on October 19 at Stage 48 in NYC. Chairing the "Mr. Abbott" Award Committee was Jordan Roth, Vanessa L. Williams, Leigh Silverman, and Dan Knechtges with honorary chair Stephen Sondheim. Proceeds from this gala event benefit Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation.
The "Mr. Abbott" Award, presented through SDCF by a committee of directors and choreographers to one of their peers, is named in honor of renowned director George Abbott and is presented in recognition of lifetime achievement. Past recipients of the award include Harold Prince, Bob Fosse, Mike Nichols, Agnes de Mille, Michael Bennet, Gene Saks, Tommy Tune, Arvin Brown, Trevor Nunn, Jerry Zaks, Gordon Davidson, Lloyd Richards, Garson Kanin, Graciela Daniele, Susan Stroman, Jack O'Brien, Lynne Meadow, Kathleen & Rob Marshall, Daniel Sullivan, Donald Saddler, George C. Wolfe, and Jerry Mitchell.
