The sixth season of the Broadway by the Year series began at Town Hall on Monday, March 6 "The Broadway Musicals of 1930," with a cast that included a rich array of theater and cabaret stars. A party was held after the concert at Tony's DiNapoli Restaurant in Times Square.

Scott Siegel, the creator/writer/host of the series explains that "When I discovered the remarkable number of famous songs that were born on Broadway in 1930," said Siegel, "I promised myself that I'd spread the wealth and put together one of the largest, if not the largest, cast ever assembled for one Broadway by the Year concert. I wanted the best people in town singing the most stunning music Broadway has ever given us." According to Siegel, the cast will be singing songs by Cole Porter, The Gershwins, Rodgers & Hart and a slew of other great composers that were working at the top of their game in 1930. Songs like "I've Got a Crush on You," "On the Sunny Side of the Street," and "Get Happy" are just a few of the standards that were introduced on Broadway that year.
