Wednesday, May 14th from 8:00 - 10:00 pm at Therapy (Manhattan's Premier After-Theatre Bar) 348 West 52nd Street (bet 8th & 9th Avenues),  Glammy-award-winning Entertainer of the Year Peppermint and Stella, "the Queen of Vaccine," and her D'oroettes (and A"doro"bles!) will again headline the fourth annual event to promote HIV Vaccine Awareness Day.   The one-night-only show, presented by Project Achieve, the New York Blood Center's vaccine trial effort, is also sponsored by Columbia University Medical Center, AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (AVAC) and Gay Men of African Descent (GMAD).  Performers include  Jalynn Steele, Jacqueline Dupre, Mike Agnew, the fabulous Jiggly Caliente -- and of course the evenings hostess Peppermint and Stella, the Queen of Vaccine, who is giving up her crown next year.  They are looking for a successor = a New Queen and an Effective HIV Vaccine!

Project Achieve's goal is to find ways to prevent HIV infection and other sexually transmitted diseases among men who have sex with men and heterosexual women in New York City.  One way to "get the word out" is to offer an evening of entertainment, featuring people from the affected communities performing UNITED to find an effective HIV vaccine.  For more information, go to nycvaccine.org.

Peppermint is also host of the long-running "Cattle Call" talent contest at Therapy, where Stella "TQOV" has won 25 times.  All the entertainers involved have won multiple times at "Cattle Call," and have numerous devoted fans.  For the second year, Gold's Gym is also a supporter of the event and will be at the club with special surprises and hand-outs.

There is no admission charge for the event.  All the current volunteers, trial participants and New York Blood Center's Community Advisory board participate out of a commitment to the cause.  Project Achieve salutes them at this annual event.      For additional information on the event please contact John Sefakis at (212) 560-3582.
