Penguin Rep Theatre presents No Parole, the hilarious and gut-wrenching true story of writer-performer Carlo D'Amore's mother -- a flamboyant, live-for-the-moment, con artist -- as told by the son who must save her from herself for three performances, Sundays, October 10, 17 & 24, 2010, in Stony Point, New York. No Parole is directed by Margarett Perry.

According to Penguin artistic director Joe Brancato, "No Parole takes us on a wild journey from Peru to the streets of New York into the real life of a devoted mother who also posed as an attorney, professor, daycare worker, and diplomat. It's an unforgettable life," says Mr. Brancato, "as seen through the eyes of her young son who acts as her look-out, bail, and partner-in-crime."

No Parole premiered in San Francisco in 2007 where it was voted one of the Top Ten plays of the year. It had a sold-out run Off Broadway at 59 East 59 Theaters in July, 2009 and the following month played to great acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Scotland's The List Magazine called No Parole "a real gem", the San Francisco Chronicle described it as "ferocious fun", and the Sacramento Bee described it as "funny, touching and true."

Performances of Carlo D'Amore's No Parole are scheduled Sundays, October 10, 17 and 24, at 7:00 pm at Penguin Rep's intimate, 108-seat theatre at 7 Crickettown Road in Stony Point, NY.

Tickets are $20 ($15 for subscribers).
