The producers of The Legend of Pearl Hart, the new musical about the life and exploits of Pearl Taylor Hart, have added a performance on Tuesday, June 20th at 7:30pm.
The Legend of Pearl Hart is a
new musical about the life and exploits of Pearl Taylor Hart, the
"Famous Female Arizona Bandit." It began performances on June 9th
and runs through June 24th at TBG Arts Center (West 36th Street, on the fourth floor,
west of Eighth Avenue).The musical, which is presented by LCO Productions, features a book and lyrics
by Cathy Chamberlain, and music by Rich Look. It is directed by
Lea Orth, with choreography by Jim Osorno.The show stars Laurie Gamache (A Chorus Line), Trip Pylmale (The Robber Bridegroom), George Riddle (The Fantasticks), Keith Krutchoff, and in the title role, Catherine Hesse.
The Legend of Pearl Hart
"chronicles the exploits of Pearl Taylor Hart, a young Canadian woman
who, in the 1890's, became famous when she robbed a stage-coach. The
resulting press coverage dubbed her 'The Daring Arizona Female Bandit'
and made Pearl an overnight media sensation. In her growing fame and
notoriety, she attracted the constant scrutiny of the law, male
admirers and interest from the suffragette movement which included a
jailhouse visit from Emma Goldman," according to press notes. Songs
include "Colombian Exposition Midway March," "Just a Cowboy," "New Girl
in Town," and "Newspaper Quote."
