Parallel Exit to Present EVERYBODY GETS CAKE at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters will host the New York premiere of EVERYBODY GETS CAKE!, created and performed by Joel Jeske, Danny Gardner and Brent McBeth, and directed by Mark Lonergan. Produced by Parallel Exit, EVERYBODY GETS CAKE! begins performances on Friday, January 16 for a limited engagement through Sunday, February 8. Press opening is Friday, January 23 at 8:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday at 8:30PM; Saturday at 2:30 PM & 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM & 7:30 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Tickets are $25 ($17.50 for 59E59 Members). Parallel Exit, the troupe with "a knack for conjuring Charlie Chaplin and then giving him a demented twist" (New York Times), returns to 59E59, after their two Drama Desk-nominated triumphs.

Parallel Exit's new show takes a "Pythonesque" turn, featuring surreal sketches with innovative comedic influences from several different decades. From the silent film era to the "talkies" to Adult Swim, iconic comedy styles collide in this outrageously funny show. And, for something completely different, indeed EVERYBODY GETS CAKE!

The cast features Joel Jeske (Room 17B; Big Apple Circus), Danny Gardner (Room 17B; upcoming Lady, Be Good at City Center Encores), and Brent McBeth (Time Step; No, No Nanette at City Center Encores).

The design team includes Maruti Evans (set and lighting) and Oana Botez (costumes). Ben Model wrote the original score. The production stage manager is Olivia O'Brien.

Mark Longergan (director) is a New York-based director/creator, and the Artistic Director of Parallel Exit, a two-time Drama Desk Award nominee for Unique Theatrical Experience. With Parallel Exit, he has created many original and award-winning works of physical theatre. Mark's work has been seen in theatres and festivals the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. In New York City, he has presented work at The New Victory Theater, Lincoln Center, 59E59 Theaters, Symphony Space, and the Guggenheim Museum. He recently directed Exit, touring Germany through the summer of 2015. Mark is the Guest Director of the 2015-16 Big Apple Circus, where he teams up with Parallel Exit's Joel Jeske, Brent McBeth, and Maruti Evans.

Danny Gardner's (creator/performer) NYC credits include ROOM 17B (Drama Desk Nomination), Lucky in the workshop of the Broadway Bound Dames At Sea, Sheldon Harnick's Dragons and A Doctor In Spite Of Himself both at the York Theatre, four Broadway By the Year concerts at Town Hall (choreographing and performing), and Time Step at the New Victory Theater. Selected touring and regional credits: Mike Nulty in the National Tour of White Christmas, The National Symphonic Tour of Here To Stay - The Gershwin Experience, the National tour of 42nd Street, four shows at the two-time Tony Award-winning Goodspeed Opera House (most recently Frank in Show Boat), nine shows at Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, including the world premiere of Neurosis, and the world premiere of Noah Racey's Pulse at Asolo Repertory Theatre.

Joel Jeske (creator/performer) is a physical comedian, director, teacher, and creator of his own theater shows. He has appeared in major feature films including Two for the Money with Al Pacino and Two Weeks Notice with Sandra Bullock. On television, Joel was featured in Sex in the City, The Late Show with David Letterman, Live with Regis and Kelly, and with partner Barry Lubin in Italy's Circo Massimo. Internationally, Joel starred with Peter Shub at the Apollo Variete in Dusseldorf, Germany and was the headlining show at Festival Der Traume in Innsbruck, Austria, the COS Festival in Reus, Spain, and the AEMI International Clown Festival in Shanghai and Hangzhou, China. Joel is a creator and performer for the physical theatre company Parallel Exit. He created and starred in Parallel Exit's Off-Broadway hits This Way That Way, Cut to the Chase, and Room 17B. Joel was nominated for a Drama Desk award in 2008 and 2010 for creating the Off-Broadway hits Cut to the Chase and Room 17B. As a clown, Joel toured and created clown acts for Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus, Cirque Du Soleil, and hosted The Big Apple Circus 2006-07 production of Step Right Up!. Joel teaches circus and clown with Parallel Exit, The Big Apple Circus, and Cirque Du Jour both internationally and at home in New York. Joel was honored as Clown of the Year 2007 won the Audience Choice Award for best clown act in 2009. Joel is currently touring in the GOP Variety Theaters across Germany as part of Exit, and will be conceiving and starring in the 2015-16 Big Apple Circus.

Brent McBeth (creator/performer) is a performer, dance teacher and choreographer who joined Parallel Exit in 2006 with the creation of Time Step and continues to create new works with this amazing company. He has performed with Parallel Exit at the GOP Variety Theaters (Germany), Festival der Traume (Austria), the Cos Festival (Spain) and will tour as a clown for the Big Apple Circus in 2015-16. New York performance credits include: Time Step (New Victory Theater); Exit Stage Left (Lincoln Center Institute, Symphony Space); No, No Nanette and Face the Music (City Center Encore!); Broadway By the Year (Town Hall). Regional and tour performance credits include: Fosse (with Ben Vereen and Ruthie Henshall); Thank You, Gregory (with Maurice Hines); Cabaret (Emcee); Irving Berlin's White Christmas (cast album); Thoroughly Modern Millie (Dexter).
