PHANTOM'S Howard McGillin Joins Tyne Daly in David Hyde Pierce's IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU at George Street Playhouse this Fall

Howard McGillin, who holds the record for longest run as the Phantom in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, dropped by the Sirius/XM's Live On Broadway radio show yesterday and shared exciting news about his upcoming projects.

"I'll be doing a show that David Hyde Pierce is directing called IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU," the actor revealed. The cast will also feature "Twiglight: Breaking Dawn" actress Lisa Howard and stage favorite Tyne Daly.  The production will mark the directorial debut of Tony Award winning actor David Hyde Pierce and play the George Street Playhouse from October 4 through November 6, 2011. It Shoulda Been You features book and lyrics by Brian Hargrove and music by Barbara Anselmi, based on a concept by Barbara Anselmi.

In addition, McGillin will be performing his solo act at The Algonquin this fall from September 16 - 23.

Howard McGillin is currently appearing in "The Best Is Yet To Come: The Music of Cy Coleman" at 59E59 Theater through July 3rd.   Along with McGillin, the cast of this musical tribute includes Lillias White, David Burnham, Sally Mayes, Rachel Cook and pianist Billy Stritch.
