Oscar Isaac to Play the Prince of Denmark Off-Broadway Next Spring

Oscar Isaac, currently traveling across the universe on the big screen as X-wing pilot 'Poe Dameron' in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, is staying Earth-bound for his next project.

According to the Daily Mail, the actor will star in Shakespeare's HAMLET at Theatre For A New Audience next spring. Sam Gold is set to direct the production, beginning in 2017 in Brooklyn.

No stranger to off-Broadway, Isaac has also appeared on the New York stage in WE LIVE HERE, GRACE, ROMEO AND JULIET, BEAUTY OF THE FATHER and TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA. He studied at the Juilliard School in New York City.

The Golden Globe winner is currently filming STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII and will soon be seen in in the ninth X-Men film, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, as the titular mutant supervillain.

Among his other recent big screen credits are EX MACHINA, A MOST VIOLENT YEAR and INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS. He also headlined the HBO miniseries SHOW ME A HERO.
