Original CITY OF ANGELS Stars Set for Q&A with Blue Hill Troupe

By:

The Blue Hill Troupe, now in its 93rd season, brings "City of Angels" back to the stage. Set in the glamorous, seductive Hollywood of the 40s, the world of film studios and flimsy negligees, "City of Angels" chronicles the misadventures of Stine, a young novelist, attempting to write a screenplay of one of his detective novels. Each scene he writes comes to life on stage, starring his hardboiled detective alter-ego, Stone. As Stone's life in the film plot gets more complicated, so does Stine's personal and professional life, until the point when the two plots intersect. The amazing double score and story do what all good movies should, eventually winding up to two happy endings.

The Blue Hill Troupe is the only musical theater group in New York City to donate its net proceeds to charity. Proceeds from the company's 2016-2017 season will benefit Rocking the Boat. At Rocking the Boat, a nonprofit organization in the South Bronx, students work together to build wooden boats, learn to row and sail, and restore local urban waterways, revitalizing their community while creating better lives for themselves.

The Blue Hill Troupe's production of "City of Angels" is directed by Andy Sandberg with music direction by Andrew Sotomayor. The production features Neal Young*, Paul Mitchell Wilder, Jennifer Dorre, Brady Lynch, Alan Abrams*, Sydney Ransom, Sandy Kennedy, Shanna Siegmund, Michael Moss, Johnny Hager, Tom Frueh, Chris Dorre, Michael Macaione*, Andrew Neuman, Luisa Boyaggi, John C. Taylor, Patricia Berg*, Jessica Meese, Ron Romaine, Rebecca Grady, Julia Farina, David Pasteelnick, Christian Smythe, Ariel Andrews, Nancy Blagman, Erin Coleman, Nettie Chickering, Jennifer Gelber, Casey Keeler, Maria Plantilla, Emily Ruderman, and Deana Stein. Tony nominee Dee Hoty and other cast members from the original Broadway company will participate in a Q&A after the Blue Hill Troupe's performance on April 22nd at 2pm.

Every year since 1924, the Blue Hill Troupe has come together for a season of revelry celebrating its three great passions: Theater, Charity and Community. The Troupe's efforts are rooted in a tradition of performing a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta, and the group also presents a musical theater production as well as a concert series. Since its inception in 1924, adjusted for inflation, the Blue Hill Troupe has donated over $7 million to New York City charities.
