The Frog & Peach Theatre Company, which presented free productions of Shakespeare's plays since 1996, returns in triumph to the Upper West Side with a new production of Hamlet, starring Karen Lynn Gorney as Gertrude, Ryan Tramont as Hamlet, and Joe Corey as Claudius and The Ghost.

Directed by Lynnea Benson, Hamlet opens July 27, at The Advent Lutheran Church, 2504 Broadway (at 93rd Street).

"Renowned for its fast-paced, action packed productions and featuring company members such as Austin Pendleton (currently starring in The Public's Romeo & Juliet), Oscar-nominee Catalina Sandino Merino (Maria Full of Grace), and the fabulous Ms. Gorney (Irish Rep's The Field, the film Saturday Night Fever, and TV's 'All My Children'), The Frog & Peach is thrilled to present Hamlet," state press materials.

Frog & Peach is dedicated to staging free Shakespeare.  After turning thousands of New Yorkers on to the Bard, they are charging a $15 admission to raise money.

Artistic Director and Member of The Actors Studio,  Benson is committed to staging Shakespeare's plays in shorter formats (Hamlet runs less than 2 hours), and using The Method to make the performances thrilling and enjoyable to modern audiences.

The cast also features Hal Smith-Reynolds, Kent Meister, Rand Guerrero, Sean Lewis, Carrie Anne James, Gregg Lauterbach, and Topher Mikels.  Hamlet is choreographed by Tom Knutson, with combat scenes designed by Ian Marshall and special music written by Ted Zurkowski.

Hamlet runs Fridays & Saturdays for four performances only, July 27, July 28, August 3 and August 4 at 7:30 pm.  The Advent Lutheran Church is located at 2504 Broadway at 93rd Street.  General admission is $15, students $10.
