The CW's ARROW/FLASH spinoff can't seem to stay away from stage actors (and we don't blame them).

Deadline writes that ONCE star Arthur Darvill has joined the series as 'Rip Hunter'.

Darvill's character is described as "a roguish time traveler who hides the strains of being responsible for history itself behind a facade of charm and wit".

The actor will join fellow stage vet Ciara Renee (as Hawkgirl), along with Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, and Caity Lotz in the project.

Like THE FLASH and ARROW, the planned midseason spinoff is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti("Green Lantern," "Brothers & Sisters"), and Marc Guggenheim ("FlashForward," "Eli Stone").

Darvill, who last starred on Broadway in ONCE, is currently treading the boards in TREASURE ISLAND at the National Theatre. His most recent TV credit is ITV's BROADCHURCH; he starred in DOCTOR WHO from 2010-12.
