According to an Equity casting notice, Nora Ephron's Lucky Guy will open on Broadway at a Shubert Theatre in March 2013. Though casting has not been announced, Tom Hanks was previously attached to the project before Ephron's death last summer.

The play, previously titled Stories About McAlary, centers on the life of the late New York Post and Daily News columnist Mike McAlary. STORIES ABOUT MCALARY was given a reading in New York in June 2010. Directed by Mike Nichols, McAlary was read by Hugh Jackman. The reading also included Sarah Paulson and Richard Kind. The play is reportedly being produced by Fred Zollo and Bob Cole - the forces behind Jackman's latest, A Steady Rain - alongside president of HBO Colin Callender.

Ephron passed away on June 26, 2012. She was 71. Ephron is well known for her films When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Go Mail and more recently, Julie & Julia.

For the stage, Ephron has written Short Talks on the Universe, the Drama Desk Award-winning Love, Loss, and What I Wore, Imaginary Friends, and more.
