Christiane Noll and Michael Minarik, co-stars of the Urinetown National Tour, will reunite in a by-invitation only reading of the new musical Ethan Frome: An American Romance on Sunday, May 6.

Noll has also starred in Broadway's Jekyll & Hyde and Off-Broadway's Little by Little and A Fine and Private Place.  Minarik's credits include the National Tours of Little Women, Yeston and Kopit's Phantom, and The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Presented by The York Theatre Company and Lively Arts Productions, the reading will also feature Leah Horowitz (Woman in White, La Cage auxFolles, Thoroughly Modern Millie) and Nick Dalton (Hairspray Las Vegas, Ernest In Love).

The show has music and lyrics by Adam Gwon, a book by Michael Ruby, and is directed by Daniel T. Lavender.

"Based on the classic 1911 novella by Edith Wharton, the story takes place in rural New England.  Ethan Frome, a poor farmer, is unhappily married to Zeena, a demanding and overbearing hypochondriac. When Zeena's younger cousin Mattie comes to live with them, Ethan is driven by his star-crossed love for Mattie, which makes the pair suffer devastating consequences," state press notes.

Ethan Frome was previously seen in a staged reading at The York Theatre last Spring and in the NAMT 2006 Songwriter's Showcase.  The piece will also receive a fully-staged workshop at The University of Oklahoma in May.
