Christiane Noll will put opera on her resumé beginning on September 24th at Washington National Opera (located in the Kennedy Center in the nation's capitol). The soprano, best known for playing Emma in Jekyll and Hyde, will pair up with legendary tenor Placido Domingo in an evening of acts from operas called Trilogy; it will run through October 9th.

Trilogy will feature three acts from three different operas. Noll will play Valencienne to Domingo's Danilo in Act III of Franz Lehar's The Merry Widow, with Leslie Mutchler as Hanna and Corey Evan Rotz as Njegus. Sometimes considered an operetta, the piece is nonetheless a staple at opera companies. The other segments of the evening will be Act II of Umberto Giordano's Fedora and Act IV of Giuseppi Verdi's Otello.

Heinz Fricke will lead the Washington National Opera's orchestra for the three acts, with The Merry Widow to be performed in English with English subtitles.

Noll was most recently featured in the out-of-town tryout of The Mambo Kings (the Broadway opening of the show was postponed indefinitely). In addition to Jekyll and Hyde, she has appeared on Broadway in It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues and at Encores! in Out of This World. She also appeared in national tours of Grease, City of Angels and Miss Saigon, and her solo albums are A Broadway Love Story, Live at the Westbank Café and The Ira Gershwin Album.

Trilogy
