Noh Sang-hyun Announces Photo Exhibition

By:

"The camera is on hold. But life is flowing astray all around the world."

A photo exhibition focusing on the heart of Seoul is underway with the theme of "Frozen but flowing and the flow does not come to a stop." The exhibition is hosted by artistic photo-journalist Noh Sang-hyun on Internet gallery Abnormal (www.abnormal.co.kr) from May 1.

By organizing the exhibition, Noh asks the question of how we perceive the world and how we should carry on with our lives and help search for answers.

The questions include what we know about the real and unrealistic world and on which side we exist. And how we can face off with confrontations in our society and how we can overcome them.

Through the exhibition, Noh attempts to relieve himself of his state of mind and break out into the greater world. By adjusting the shutter speed, and using a contrasting a still camera, he has created simplified yet clarified themes to his works.

Noh has been influenced by atheists like Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens.

They are, respectively, a biologist, neurologist and author and they share the common theme of "No knowledge."

"In a word, we make no hasty decisions and approach issues that we don't know about with seriousness and consider them with depth," Noh said.

Noh studied metallic craft in college and proceeded to undertake jewelry design at the post-graduate level.

He first presented his work in "Getting lost in New York" in 2010, followed by "Crossover" in 2011, "Delusion" in 2012 and a private cyber exhibition encompassing the Environment, Jazz and Mountains this year.

Some of his works were published in "Sleepwalk, Noh Sang-hyun in New York" in 2011, "Wellington, a city of wind," "Manhattan," "Delusion" and "Time continues to tick" this year.
