Don't miss My Life is a Musical at the Comédie Nation TONIGHT (Tuesday November 14th) at 19h30 and Friday November 17th at 21h.

Fresh off of his success with The Double-Threat Trio, created in Paris July 2017, Broadway au Carré welcomes back to France one of New York musical theatre's rising stars: Adam Overett. The composer will be presenting, for the first time in Europe, his work "My Life is a Musical".

Parker is a shy accountant with a big secret : his life is a musical! While everyone else lives their normal lives, he sees them bursting into song and dance numbers, accompanied by an invisible orchestra. His worst fears are realized when his boss sends him on the road as a tour manger for a singer-songwriter named Zach- what if his bizarre condition is discovered? Instead, on the sly, Parker gives Zach the tunes from his own musical life the tunes become hits, and Zach becomes a national sensation. J.T., Zach's manager, is entranced by Zach's newfound artistry and she starts to fall for him while Parker finds himself falling for J.T. As the tour arrives on a national stage, Parker must choose whether to keep his secret, or the love of his life.

Adam Overett, creative artist, composer, librettist and lyricist, has lived in New York for more than 15 years. On Broadway and on tour, he performed roles like Neil Kellerman in "Dirty Dancing", and Fabrizio in "The Light in the Piazza", before establishing himself as a writer and composer. In 2011 he was nominated for the Lucille Lortel Awards for his contribution to the score of "We the People". Since 2013, he has written works with underrepresented and ambitious themes which are enjoying an increasing level of success including: "My Life is A Musical", "Popesical", "Call It Courage" and "The Double-Threat Trio", which held its world premiere in France July 2017.

Broadway au Carré is the leading American musical theatre concert and open-mic series in Paris, founded and directed by Lisandro Nesis. At a time when borders are closing, its aim is to build an artistic bridge over the ocean by bringing together the two cities that never sleep, Paris and New York, through musical theater. For almost five years now, the company has been inviting American songwriters to collaborate with Paris-based musical theatre performers. Broadway au Carré has already produced over 60 concerts, readings, full productions and open-mics in Paris and abroad (New York, London, Berlin, Buenos Aires...), including several new musicals that had never been performed in France, such as Carner and Gregor's "Island Song", Adam Gwon's "Ordinary Days", Adam Overett's "The Double-Threat Trio", Pechacek and Hammond's "Seasons", Cooper & Connington's "Love, Always", Jaime Lozano's "A Never-Ending Line" and Dana Levinson's "5th Republic". In New York City, Broadway au Carré has also brought together dozens of French performers, American songwriters and Broadway guests in sold-out concerts at Feinstein's/54 Below and other prestigious venues.
