The new Garry Marshall Theatre's official marquee is lighting up Riverside Drive in Burbank for the first time on Thursday, September 21, just in time for the launch of the theatre's Inaugural Season.

Laurie Metcalf, Joe Mantegna, Hector Elizondo, Joey MacIntyre, Rory O'Malley, Nadine Ellis, Gil Cates, Jr., Jack McGee, Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel, Paul C. Vogt, Marion Ross and Anson Williams and more will gather to "flip the switch" on the custom neon marquee celebrating the launch of the new nonprofit live arts venue.

The marquee design is inspired by Garry's actual signature and will be lit just one day before the theatre's opening night of the Tony Award-winning play Master Class by Terrence McNally, starring Emmy Award-winning Carolyn Hennesy.

"Garry used signs to punctuate his storytelling all the time. Watch any of his films or television shows with this in mind and you will see that he used signs to give hints about his characters, and sometimes even as punchlines," says Artistic Director, Joseph Leo Bwarie. "Signage plays a big part in the world of Garry Marshall. And this marquee is going to play a big part in the landscape of this community. He would have loved it."

Designed by Burbank design studio Meat & Potatoes, Inc. with fabrication by Dave's Signs, installation at the new Garry Marshall Theatre will complete this week, ready for the first official illumination on Thursday.
