New 54 Below Concert Development Series, Hosted by Amy Jo Jackson, Begins Tonight

After embarking on a search for New York's finest undiscovered concert acts earlier this summer, 54 Below recently announced the 16 finalists selected for their new concert development series, 54 CONCERT LAB. At the LAB, emerging artists hand-picked by 54 Below will develop new solo concerts bit by bit and draft by draft. Each artist will have the chance to preview their concert in 3 separate nights at 54 Below, beginning tonight, August 13 at 11:30pm.

Each act will perform pieces from their own conceptual solo show, culminating in a 20-25 minute piece performed in a showcase for 54 Below staff and other industry panelists. Between performances, artists will receive feedback from 54 Below, audience members, and special guests, and will be revise their show based on that feedback.

Selected performers include: Deborah Berenson, Ryan Bloomquist, Adam Blotner, Amanda D'Archangelis, Jen Eden, Emily Goglia, Hannah Kloepfer & Tessa Slovis, Gaby Hornig, Jake Levitt, Meagan Michelson, Samantha Joy Pearlman, Sam Perwin, Alexis Tidwell, Christopher Timson, Mathieu Whitman, and Reji Woods.

54 CONCERT LAB is a part of "Late Night at 54 Below." The LAB is a program dedicated to creating a supportive environment for emerging artists to create and revise solo concerts. Amy Jo Jackson is an actor/singer, voice/text/dialect coach, and fancy, fancy lady. In NYC, she's appeared at EPBB, The Flea, Prospect, UCB, The PIT, as well as with two solo shows and many additional appearances at 54 Below. Regionally: Oregon Shakes, Seven Angels, SpeakEasy Stage (Eliot Norton and IRNE nominations - Best Actress in a Musical - BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON), Lake Dillon, Opera House Arts, ReVision. She can also be seen on several web series, most notably the "Matilda" episode of HIGH MAINTENANCE. As Dialect/Text Coach: Current: Broadway, First National Tour, and Toronto productions of KINKY BOOTS; WATERFALL (Pasadena Playhouse). Other coaching work has been seen Off-Bway, regionally (Hudson Valley Shakes, Singapore Rep), and all over NYC (New World Stages, The Pearl, The Flea, Playwrights Realm, The Cell, Prospect, PPAS, UCB, Pace).
