NEW YORK COMEDY FESTIVAL Announces Additional Events

The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF), in association with COMEDY CENTRAL, announced today additional events to its line-up, including a Times Talk discussion with Tracy Morgan at The Times Center, moderated by Bill Carter, New York Times national media editor and presented in collaboration with The New York Times; "Lewis Black in Conversation with Bill Scheft," a questions-and-answers session at Barnes & Noble in Union Square, presented in conjunction with Barnes & Noble; "Louie: A Conversation with Louis CK," moderated by James Poniewozik, Senior Writer, Time Magazine; "An Evening with Dick Gregory" at Carolines on Broadway, "Mike Birbiglia and Friends Celebrate His First Book: ‘Sleepwalk with Me and Other Painfully True Stories,'" at Carolines on Broadway; a panel discussion with the cast of COMEDY CENTRAL's animated series "Ugly Americans" at The Apple Store in SoHo, moderated by Randy Pearlstein; and a live taping of Patrice O'Neal's one-hour COMEDY CENTRAL special at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

Other NYCF events added to the line-up are the "Best of New York Sketch," "The Best of Whiplash," "Best of Stripped Stories," and "Time Out Live," all at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre; and "The Best of the Breakout Artist Comedy Series" at Carolines on Broadway, with more events expected to be added.

These events join the already announced 2010 line-up including performances by Aziz Ansari, Adam Carolla, Margaret Cho, Louis CK, Kevin Hart, Gabriel Iglesias, Luis Jimenez, Maz Jobrani, Joel McHale, Rosie O'Donnell, and Brian Regan at more than 10 venues throughout the course of the five-day festival, which runs November 3rd - 7th. As previously announced, the NYCF along with the Bob Woodruff Foundation Stand Up for Heroes event kicks off this years festival on opening night.

"We strive to continually bring the best and most diverse comedy to the festival each year, and this year is no exception," says Caroline Hirsch, founder of the Festival and owner of the famed Carolines on Broadway. "The panel discussions, Q-and-A's, and sketch and alternative comedy shows continue to provide a broad spectrum of comedy for the festival."
