Mitsui Fudosan America, Inc. (MFA) www.mfamerica.com, the U.S. affiliate of Japan's largest real estate company, announced today that 527 Madison Avenue will hold its third exhibition of contemporary art as part of its emerging artists series. The exhibition will show large-scale paintings by Brooklyn-based painter Rick Siggins. Five large-scale works by Siggins will be on view in the lobby of the building, located at Madison Avenue and 54th Street from January 14 - May 7, 2015 and are accessible to the public from 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Rick Siggins paints multiple small, individually-stretched canvases, which he joins together to create abstract works of dazzling intricacy. Often symmetrical with combinations of striking colors, the paintings have a kaleidoscopic effect that is reinforced by the patterns created by the edges of the numerous canvases within the composition. The structures of the paintings have an internal geometric logic, which Siggins plays off of in his hand-painted surfaces. When looking at the works up close, the viewer perceives the painstaking application of countless brushstrokes within each unit, which gives way to a shimmering visual hum when seen from afar.

Rick Siggins has shown with a number of prominent New York galleries, including Marlborough, and Feature Inc. His work was recently included in a group show at Hal Bromm Gallery curated by Fran Holstrom. Siggins holds a BFA from New York City's School of Visual Arts.

This exhibition is the third in a series of rotating exhibitions that showcase noteworthy emerging artists. Prior exhibitions featured work from Tracy Miller and Tom Judd.
