The Midnight Company will present an Encore Performance of Eric Bogosian's SEX, DRUGS, ROCK & ROLL January 2-4, 2015 at Herbie's Vintage 72, featuring Joe Hanrahan and directed by Rachel Tibbetts, with shows in the New Year Friday, January 2 and Saturday, January 3 at 8pm, and Sunday January 4 at 7pm.
SEX, DRUGS, ROCK & ROLL had an August, 2014 run at Herbie's, earning rave reviews - "Brilliant, savagely funny and wildly different from most offerings you'll see on St. Louis stages these days" (RFT); "A tight, terrifying journey into America's shallow heart of darkness" (Ladue News); "Compelling theater...the cellar at Herbie's is small, intimate, the audience captured in Hanrahan's magic web" (Alive magazine); "Tibbetts' direction and Hanrahan's continuous exploration of character - a good, potentially great pairing." (KDHX); "the character sketches, the pieces ignite each other, like little flames making a blaze" (Post-Dispatch). Bogosian's portraits of contemporary men are incisive, scorching (and hilarious) commentaries on the social scene, similar in style and structure to his other acclaimed solo shows - DRINKING IN AMERICA, POUNDING NAILS IN THE FLOOR WITH MY FOREHEAD, and WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE. Bogosian has also written other plays and novels, acted in film and on stage, and continues to explore his solo work with his website 100monologues.com, where he's filming performances of his solos by other actors.Videos
