The Public Theater kicks-off a new series of occasional events at Barnes and Noble's Tribeca store with A Shakespeare Valentine on Thursday February 11 at 7 pm.
A Shakespeare Valentine will feature Shakespeare's love poetry read by superb Shakespeareans in the Public Theater family. Scheduled to appear are Michael Stuhlbarg (HAMLET in Shakespeare in the Park, 2008, and Golden Globe nominee for A SERIOUS MAN), Michael Cumpsty (TWELFTH NIGHT, and many others, in Central Park and at the Public), and others. Public Theater Shakespeare Initiative Director Barry Edelstein will moderate the event and include commentary from his book BARDISMS: SHAKESPEARE FOR ALL OCCASIONS, to be published in paperback the same week as the event.
A Shakespeare Valentine will also mark the start of a special Public Theater / Barnes and Noble "Bookfair": a percentage of the price of any books purchased at the Tribeca Barnes and Noble will be donated to the Public Theater in support of the educational outreach programs of the Shakespeare Initiative.
