Meryl Streep Set To Star In Music-Themed Jonathan Demme Film RICKY AND THE FLASH

Stage and screen superstar Meryl Streep is set to continue her streak of music-themed upcoming films, highlighted by the Christmas release of hotly anticipated big screen movie musical INTO THE WOODS, with yet another project centering on song, this one titled RICKY AND THE FLASH.

Stalwart music documentarian and Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme is attached to direct the forthcoming film, while the script was penned by none other than fellow Oscar-winner Diablo Cody.

According to a new report, the description of the new film comedy and Streep's role in it is as such: "In RICKY AND THE FLASH Streep would play a woman who abandoned her family when she was younger to find fame and fortune as a rock star. Decades later, she decides to be a mother again to her estranged children, one of whom is going through a rough divorce."
