Menopause The Musical, which has played to more than 1 million people throughout the world, will celebrate its 1,500th performance at Playhouse 91 (316 East 91st Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues) on Thursday, November 10, 2005 at 8 pm.

Menopause The Musical has criss-crossed the country on tour and in addition to New York, productions are now or have played in Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Orlando, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Detroit, Denver, Des Moines and Fort Lauderdale. International productions are being planned for the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey and Israel. Its 1,500th performance will usher it into a select circle of long-running off-Broadway shows such as Stomp and Blue Man Group.

"Now swinging into its fourth year Off-Broadway," state press notes, "Menopause The Musical has grooved its way through months of laughter, standing ovations and sold-out houses. The production continues to thrill audiences of all ages night after night with its charming and witty depiction of 'The Change' and even has them participating. Wives bring their husbands…and husbands bring their wives. Most see the show more than once and many come in groups – large groups – often proudly wearing their red hats and always ready to have a great time!"

Menopause The Musical is a musical parody "that chronicles the meeting of four women at a lingerie sale in Bloomingdale's fighting over a black lace bra, with nothing in common… but memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, chocolate binges, wrinkles, plastic surgery, hormones, not enough sex, too much sex, and much, much more."

Performances for Menopause The Musical are Tuesdays – Saturdays at 8pm and Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 3pm. In January, the show will add Special "Early Bird" Matinees at 1:00pm.

Single tickets are $55 and available at the box office at 212-831-2000. Special Lunch/Dinner Theatre Packages from local restaurants are available for $75 from the Box Office.
