The Marriott Theatre, in Lincolnshire, IL announces its 2008 Season, which includes Les Miserables and The Full Monty.

"The Broadway phenomenon Les Miserables previews February 13th, opens February 20th, and runs through May 11th;  a 20th Anniversary presentation of the off-Broadway musical hit Nunsense previews May 14th, opens May 21st, and runs through July 14th;  the internationally acclaimed The Full Monty previews July 16th, opens July 23rd, and runs through September 21st; All Shook Up, a rock and roll story based on songs by Elvis and Shakespeare's Twelfth Night previews September 24th, opens October 1st, and runs through December 7th; and a brand new musical The Bowery Boys,  based on a story by Horatio Alger, "America's Dickens," and the melodies of George M. Cohan, previews December 10th, opens December 17th, and runs through February 15th, 2009."

The Marriott Theatre, the most subscribed musical theatre in the country with more than 40,000 subscribers, offers a limited number of new subscriptions available for purchase each fall.  Call the box office at 847-634-0200 and ask to be put on the waiting list to become a new subscriber in 2008. After the theater's 2007 subscribers renew, the waiting list will be given priority.

"Les Miserables previews February 13th, opens 20th, and runs through May 11th.  The "world's most popular musical" is the stirring adaptation of Victor Hugo's humanitarian classic of the inspiring story of one man's determination to survive in the face of relentless persecution, and the triumph of the human spirit.  Les Miserables has been lauded with more than 50 major awards, has been translated into 21 different languages, and seen by more than 51 million people worldwide," state press notes.

"Nunsense, previews May 14th, opens May 21st, and runs through July 14th.  Nunsense features a quintet of "spirited" nuns who stage a benefit for an outrageous cause — to pay for a funeral - after their cook, Sr. Julia Child of God, mistakenly poisons some of their fellow "sisters".  20 years after its debut, Nunsense has been a hit in more than 26 countries, and is the second longest running off-Broadway production and perfect for audiences of all ages and faiths!"

"The Full Monty previews July 16th, opens July 23rd, and runs through September 21. This Broadway hit is the hilarious yet heartfelt story of five unemployed, out-of-shape steel-mill workers from Buffalo who need to raise some quick cash. So, this unlikely group of lovable misfits scheme to put on a strip show of their own.  Nominated for 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, this sweet and funny story of the resilience of the human spirit is a modern musical tale of true friendship.  The Full Monty will have audiences wondering if they can really 'pull it off.'

"The recent Broadway greaser, All Shook Up, featuring the songs of the legendary Elvis Presley, previews September 24th, opens October 1st, and runs through December 7th.  All Shook Up is based on William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Taking place in the summer of 1955 in the Midwest, All Shook Up is the story of Natalie, a young girl with dreams of hitting the road, and Chad, a charismatic rebel who brings rock and roll to the town and changes it forever.  Hailed as 'The best rock show since Grease,' this exhilarating, action-packed musical production features Elvis favorites."

"The Marriott Theatre presents the World Premiere of The Bowery Boys, previews December 10th, opens December 17th, and runs through February 19th. The Bowery Boys, based on a story by Horatio Alger, follows the journeys of Dick Hunter, a street wise kid, and Mary, a young British heiress cruelly abandoned on the mean streets of Manhattan. In this world of Diamond Jim Brady, Tammany Hall and the notorious Five Points, The Bowery Boys is a celebration of immigrant children discovering how to live, strive and thrive on the streets of New York City on their quest to become true Americans. The Bowery Boys boasts a rich score of beautiful melodies and vibrant dances inspired by and adapted from the songs of George M. Cohan."
