Madison Square Park to Host 2017 KIDS FEST: STAGES IN THE SQUARE This Month

Madison Square Park Conservancy will host the 2017 Kids Fest: Stages in the Square, the free family-friendly festival which will feature a diverse lineup of performing arts programming on Saturday, October 14th from 11am to 3pm on two stages across the Park.

Some performances will also utilize Josiah McElheny's exhibition, Prismatic Park. The daylong event for children 0-12 years old and their families will feature a variety performances including music, dance, theater, puppetry, magic, and storytelling.

The Park will be teeming with a variety of live performances including music performances by Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, New York City Gay Men's Chorus, clarinetist Oran Etkin, and KB Whirly's high energy funk from his Magical Musical Miniature House as well as puppetry with WonderSpark Puppets and dance with Falu's Bazaar and It's Showtime NYC. The Stages will also feature shows to make you laugh with comedic performances from Sammie and Tudie's Comedy Magic Circus, Story Pirates, and Galumpha's physical comedy acrobatics routine, while our magic show with Mario the "Maker" Magician will leave you in awe. For storytelling, Storytime Quartet will be on site, and we'll close down the event with a theatrical performance of Pushcart Players's Peter and the Wolf.

The event will also feature surprise pop-up performances, lawn games, food vendors, and more!

Kids Fest: Stages in the Square sponsors include New York Life, Taste of Home, Lego, Ace Hotel New York, New York State Council on the Arts, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
