Three Manhattan Theatre Club productions have been honored with Artio Awards nominations.  Actors in all three productions--Doubt, Sight Unseen and Reckless--were chosen by MTC's Director of Casting Nancy Piccione and MTC Casting Director David Caparelliotis.

Doubt and Sight Unseen received nominations in the Broadway, Drama category, while Reckless received a nomination in the Broadway, Comedy category.  The Artios honor achievement in film and television casting, as well as in theatre.

Of the three productions, Doubt is the only one still running. Starring Tony Award-winner Cherry Jones, Brian F. O'Byrne, Adriane Lennox and Heather Goldenhersh, Doubt received the 2005 Tony for Best Play, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and other awards. Written by John Patrick Shanley, the tense drama currently sells out nightly at the Walter Kerr Theatre, where it opened on March 31st. Directer Doug Hughes also won a Tony Award for his work.

Sight Unseen, by Donald Marguiles, ran at the Biltmore Theatre from May 25th to July 25th, 2004. As with Doubt, the show has a four-person cast that included Byron Jennings, Tony Award-nominee Laura Linney, Ana Reeder and Ben Shenkman. Daniel Sullivan directed. Reckless, starring Mary Louise Parker (who was also nominated for a Tony for her performance), opened at the Biltmore on October 14th, 2004 and ran through December 19th. Directed by Mark Brokaw, the Craig Lucas comedy also featured Debra Monk, Rosie Perez and Michael O'Keefe in its cast.

The Artios Awards are presented by the Casting Society of America. This year's awards will be presented on November 1 at the Bevery Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. For more information, visit www.castingsociety.com/artios.
