The Best of Broadway series returns to the North Charleston Performing Arts Center with an exciting and diverse 2026–2027 season, bringing a dynamic mix of beloved favorites and bold new productions direct from New York City. Building on the success of last year's expansion to week-long engagements, audiences will once again enjoy more opportunities than ever to experience Broadway close to home, with performances running Tuesday through Sunday.
The season debuts with MRS. DOUBTFIRE, the musical comedy that tells the hysterical and heartfelt story of an out-of-work actor who will do anything for his kids. Next up, based on the 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, THE BODYGUARD is a thrilling, romantic musical that combines high-stakes suspense with unforgettable music like “I Will Always Love You,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.”
The season continues with A BEAUTIFUL NOISE, created in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself, this is the uplifting true story of how a kid from Brooklyn became a chart-busting, show-stopping American rock icon. Next, back by popular demand is the multi-award-winning HAMILTON, the epic saga that follows the rise of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton as he fights for honor, love, and a legacy that would shape the course of a nation.
Continuing the season is a hit show that is based on the best-selling novel that inspired the iconic film, THE NOTEBOOK that tells the incredible love story of Allie and Noah, both from different worlds. And closing the season is HELL'S KITCHEN, the award-winning Broadway musical created and inspired by 17-time Grammy Award winning Alicia Keys, that takes you on the journey of Ali–a 17-year-old girl full of fire.
This season will also include two exciting Broadway add-on options: THE BOOK OF MORMON, the nine-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical, and the family favorite BLUEY'S BIG PLAY, a theatrical adaptation of the Emmy award-winning children's television series.

October 6 – 11, 2026
Everyone's favorite Scottish nanny will arrive in North Charleston in this musical adaptation of the film. The story follows an out-of-work actor who disguises himself as a nanny in order to remain close to his children.
THE BODYGUARD
November 17 – 22, 2026
Based on the 1992 film, THE BODYGUARD follows a former Secret Service agent hired to protect a superstar from a stalker. The production combines a romantic storyline with a catalogue of popular songs including “I Will Always Love You” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.”

A BEAUTIFUL NOISE: THE Neil Diamond MUSICAL traces the life and career of Neil Diamond, from his beginnings in Brooklyn to international stardom. The musical features songs from across his catalogue, including “Sweet Caroline” and “America.”
HAMILTON
February 9 – 21, 2027
HAMILTON follows the life of Alexander Hamilton, charting his role in the founding of the United States. The musical features a score blending hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway styles and is based on Ron Chernow’s biography.
THE BOOK OF MORMON (SPECIAL BONUS SHOW)

THE BOOK OF MORMON is a satirical musical following two missionaries sent abroad. The production has received multiple Tony Awards and continues to tour internationally.

Bluey’s Big Play is a stage adaptation of the children’s television series, featuring puppetry and characters from the show brought to life for a live audience.

Based on the novel and film, THE NOTEBOOK tells the story of Allie and Noah and their long-term relationship across different stages of life. The musical includes a score by Ingrid Michaelson.
HELL'S KITCHEN
April 27 – May 2, 2027
HELL’S KITCHEN is a musical inspired by Alicia Keys, following a teenager navigating life and identity in New York City. The production includes songs from Keys’ catalogue alongside new material.
