Various companies will be presenting free outdoor Shakespeare productions this summer, the New York Times has reported.

Shakespeare in the Park, located at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, will present THE WINTER'S TALE, directed by Michael Greif, and THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, directed by Daniel Sullivan, in repertory throughout June and July.  THE WINTER'S TALE will feature, among others, Ruben Santiago-Hudson and Linda Emond; THE MERCHANT OF VENICE will feature, among others, Al Pacino and Lily Rabe.  Both will feature Jesse L. Martin and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.  For more information, visit the company's official website.

The New York Classical Theatre, which presents site-specific productions in which the audience must follow the actors from place to place, will present two productions of Shakespeare's works this summer. From June 3 through June 27 at 7pm, they will present RICHARD III in Central Park. From July 17 through August 1 at 7pm, they will present MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING in Battery Park; the production will then move to Central Park until August 29. Both productions will feature workshops for families; MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING will also feature open rehearsals. For more information, visit the company's official website.

Moose Hall Theatre, a not-for-profit company, will present its annual Inwood Shakespeare festival in and around Inwood Hill Park in Manhattan.  This year, the festival will feature THE COMEDY OF ERRORS from June 2 to June 19 (Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm).  There will also be some non-Shakespearean offerings, including TOMBSTONE and some children's concerts.  All performances will take place at the Inwood Hill Park Peninsula.  For more information, visit the company's official website.

The Hudson Warehouse will present several pieces of free outdoor theater at the North Patio of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in Manhattan's Riverside Park, including a production of ROMEO AND JULIET from August 5 to August 29 (Thursdays through Saturdays at 6:30pm).  In June, they will present THE TROJAN WOMEN; in July, they will present CYRANO.  Nicholas Martin-Smith will direct all three productions.  For more information, visit the company's official website
