Singer Lindsay Mendez and pianist/band leader Marco Paguia will be the first to perform in Lincoln Center's "American Songbook in the Penthouse" series on Friday, March 29th at 8:00pm.

"American Songbook in the Penthouse" embraces adventuresome performers and celebrates composers and lyricists, both newer and veteran. The evening will feature Ms. Mendez and Mr. Paguia playing through their eclectic catalogue, and will feature Clark Sommers on bass and Tommy Crane on drums.

Lindsay Mendez and Marco Paguia draw from an eclectic mix of music, reimagining songs from popular music blending elements of jazz, soul & rock in the familiar setting of an acoustic piano trio and vocalist. The pair met in 2010 while working on the Broadway production of Everyday Rapture. When an opportunity to collaborate presented itself, the two quickly discovered their musical chemistry and formed a band. They have performed all over the city at venues such as Birdland, Joe's Pub, Feinstein's, and (Le) Poisson Rouge. The duo has just wrapped up work on their debut album, set for release later this spring.
