On the heels of record-breaking theatrical engagements in Boston and Los Angeles, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL continues to be showered with acclaim, with the Lifetime telefilm earning three NAACP Image Awards when the prestigious awards were handed out on February 5th.

The Lifetime telefilm of THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, directed by Michael Wilson and produced by Bill Haber, was one of the evening's big winners, taking home honors for Outstanding Television Movie, Miniseries, or Dramatic Special; film and stage legend Cicely Tyson for Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Miniseries, or Dramatic Special; and Blair Underwood for Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Miniseries, or Dramatic Special. Ms. Tyson was nominated opposite two of the film's co-stars, Vanessa Willaims and Keke Palmer.

The star-studded stage production of Horton Foote's THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, starring Cicely Tyson in her legendary, Tony Award-winning and Emmy-nominated performance, Tony Award-nominee Vanessa Williams, and Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood, received extraordinary reviews and ranked as one of the highest-grossing plays in the history of Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre when it played there last fall. The subsequent production at Boston's Cutler Majestic Theatre broke box office and attendance records at the venue.

Additional touring cities are currently under discussion.

THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL was praised as one of the most distinguished productions on Broadway in 2013. Terry Teachout of the Wall Street Journal said, "I've never been more deeply moved by a theatrical production of any kind. The Trip to Bountiful is without flaw!" While Ben Brantley of The New York Times said, "Book the next bus to Bountiful! Cicely Tyson is remarkable." David Cote from Time Out NY called the show "Soul-stirring and flawless. The Trip to Bountiful seems as fresh and vibrant as the day Horton Foote finished it."

?The inspiring American classic, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, tells the story of Carrie Watts, an elderly woman forced to live with her overprotective son and domineering daughter-in-law, who dreams of returning to her small hometown of Bountiful, TX one last time.
