Lea Michele, Broadway star who plays Rachel Berry on FOX's GLEE, will be the first guest mentor on Oxygen Network's THE GLEE PROJECT for its season two premiere episode, to run tonight, June 5.

In THE GLEE PROJECT, Ryan Murphy, creator and executive producer of GLEE presents a ten-episode documentary reality series that finds and trains a group of talented performers who will compete against each other to win a role on one of the hottest shows on television. From thousands of entries, and after a nationwide talent search, Robert Ulrich, the casting director for GLEE has uncovered a unique group of artists from both professional and amateur backgrounds.

Across ten episodes, the hopefuls will be narrowed down through intensive rounds of workshops, GLEE-themed assignments and call-backs as a team of GLEE insiders (now including Michele) carefully assess which one of them has what it takes to be the next new face, and voice, of GLEE. The stakes are enormous - seven-episode guest starring role on GLEE's fourth season.

In addition to GLEE creator Ryan Murphy, the show's casting director Robert Ulrich, choreographer Zach Woodlee and vocal coach Nikki Andres will serve as judges.

Last season's winners, Samuel Larsen and Damien McGinty, both appeared on the Fox hit musical series this season. This year's cast is comprised of 14 contestants including a 24-year-old paralyzed from the waist down, a transgender 21-year-old, and another 24-year-old who's been blind since the age of 9.

Aside from her starring role on GLEE, Michele is best known for her Drama Desk-nominated performance in Broadway's Spring Awakening.
