Dana Smith-Croll of The Actors Company Theatre & Jenne Vath (NYInnovative Theatre Award Nomination) join Mikel Sarah Lambert, former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and Drama Desk nominee for the Mint Theatre's revival of D.H. Lawrence's The Daughter-in-Law, in THE ACTRESS, a new one act play by Carrie Robbins, to be presented at the Hudson Guild Theater on August 22, 24 & 27, 2016. THE ACTRESS is directed by Paul Dobie and will be part of Thespis Productions 2016 Summerfest Theater Festival. Days of the Giants LLC will co-produce.

Besides 6 shows with TACT, Ms. Smith-Croll has appeared in NYC at 59 E 59 as well as Many of the country's major Shakespeare Festivals including in NY, NJ Utah & Colorado. Her TV work includes all the Law and Orders & Comedy Central's show Broad City. She trained at Yale School of Drama.

Ms. Lambert, a graduate of Harvard University, has done several TV series in England and has worked in San Diego, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, & Boston. She appeared on B'way in Cyrano de Bergerac with Frank Langella.

Ms. Vath has worked frequently with Theatre for the New City, La MaMa, Metropolitan Playhouse, & most recently in Yorick Theatre's The Winter's Tale, directed by Everett Quinton.

The ladies will appear with veteran actor Steven Hauck (Broadway's The Velocity of Autumn and Irena's Vow; Off-Broadway in One Arm, New Group/Moisés Kaufman, director, and The Screwtape Letters.) He received an Outstanding Performance Award for NYMTF's Crossing Swords. TV work includes Baz Luhrmann's series The Get Down, Tina Fey's 30 Rock &" Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt as well as Mr. Robot, BrainDead, The Blacklist,"Elementary, & The American.

The story: Albertine Reign was a divinity on stage, adored and worshipped by fans worldwide. Backstage, however, was a completely different matter. According to "Hair," "Props" or "Stage Management" the goddess was far from heavenly! Nevertheless, on one particularly difficult day Ms. Reign saved her costume designer's ass.

THE ACTRESS is the newest play by the award-winning costume designer and playwright Carrie Robbins. Her play SAWBONES & THE DIAMOND EATER received 6 nominations from the NY Innovative Theatre Awards, more than any other production in 2014, and Her play LE WEDDING DRESS was selected as a semi-finalist by the NY New Works Theatre Festival in 2015. Robbins is a proud member of the 29th St. Playwrights Collective; the group was awarded a Creative Engagement Grant this year from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council & NY Dept. of Cultural Affairs for their collective works. www.daysofthegiants.com

Director Paul Dobie has been assistant director for several major Broadway shows, including Once, Cabaret, Wicked and Glengarry Glen Ross. He was Associate Director for the Broadway and National Tours of Thoroughly Modern Millie as well as for Martin Short's Fame Becomes Me.

The company also features Thomas Leverton & Matt Baxter Luceno. Craig M. Rosenthal is the Production Stage Manager. Set design by Joe Burkard, lighting by Jorge Arroyo, props by Jen Hebner, sound by Jacob Subotnick and wig design by Paul Huntley Productions. Robbins herself will be designing the costumes.

THE ACTRESS will perform for three performances only: Monday, August 22 at 6:15pm, Wednesday August 24 at 9:00pm and Saturday August 27 at 3:30pm. All performances will be held at the Hudson Guild Theatre, 441 W. 26th Street (between 9th-10th).
