The evening will open with actor/comedian Bill Dawes (Oz, Sex & the City); followed by a performance from the "sultan of singledom" - comedian Vince August (Laugh Factory). August, the creator/star of Vincesanity, an entry in the upcoming New York and Los Angeles Independent Film Festivals will also treat the audience to a special screening of the film after the event.

According to Ballard, "By the end of August's performance, attendees will be glad they're not in a relationship! So forget the escort services or burning up the Internet in search of Mr. or Ms. Right."

Ever the optimist, Ballard adds, "There will be refreshments and an opportunity to mingle with others and potentially reverse the curse and meet someone special." The event is open to singles of all sexual orientations as well as curious and swinging couples. Please dress to allure!

"LOVE SUCKS"

takes place on Monday, February 14th, 8:00pm, at the new Cedar Lake Arts, 547 West 26th Street between 10th and 11th Avenue. Admission is $20.00 for singles, and $50.00 for couples. Anyone deemed potential dating material for Ballard – gets in for free! For tickets call 212 868-4444 or log onto www.smarttix.com. For more information call: 212 244-0015.
LJ Ballard never has a date on Valentine's Day. The attractive (brown hair, 5'4", petite and boisterous) Artistic/Executive Director of Cedar Lake Arts in Chelsea, laughs, "I either have no prospects, or if I am attached in early February, the person will break up with me two days before the Big Day – simply to save on flowers!" Ballard's not the type to wallow, however. Instead she's planning a bitingly funny evening for NYC's Valentine's dateless entitled: LOVE SUCKS!
