Kerry Washington Gets Down On ELLEN

Broadway/Hollywood crossover star Kerry Washington appeared on ELLEN yesterday and talked all about her mega-hit ABC TV series SCANDAL as well as her new Tyler Perry-produced comedy PEEPLES, while also finding the time to show off her dancing skills in a game of dance charades.

Washington describes the table reads for SCANDAL as being highly theatrical, which is understandable given the high drama of the soapy series in which she stars alongside frequent thespian Tony Goldwyn.

"We often don't get the scripts until the morning of the table read, so as we are reading it we are reading it cold - we don't even know what we are saying as we are saying it," she says. "We're gasping and screaming at the table read - and throwing things at each other; crying," recounts the talented star of the heady readthroughs.

"It's crazy," relates the recent headliner of David Mamet's RACE on Broadway.

Later on, in the next segment, Washington shows off some of her other triple-threat abilites - namely: her seriously impressive dance moves (and some slightly less so, too).

Indeed, you haven't seen a true scandal until you've seen Kerry's Irish jig!

So, what about a musical next for her? She can clearly keep up with the hoofing requirements of many major musical theatre roles judging from this clip!
