Kathleen Marshall and a team of producers have withdrawn from the Gershwin musical NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT that was aiming to premiere on Broadway in the spring of 2009 starring Harry Connick Jr. (who Marshall directed in "The Pajama Game").

The official reason for the split was "irreconciliable differences."

Other producers who are also leaving the production are Emanuel Azenberg ("Macbeth"), Scott Landis, Ira Pittelman and Tom Hulce ("Spring Awakening"), Roy Furman, Maberry Theatricals and Ann Marie Wilkins.

Connick remains attached to the project, and Broadway Across America (the road presenter and producer) plans to keep the show on schedule.

NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT is a new musical comedy with music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin, and book by Joe DiPietro ( I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, All Shook Up). Harry Connick, Jr. stars as a Long Island playboy in this new musical comedy filled with bootleggers, golddiggers, and some of the greatest songs from the legendary Gershwin hit list.
