FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post will continue its Winter 2011 season with the debut of Broadway star Kate Shindle on Sunday, February 20 in a special concert evening to benefit The Actors Fund. She will be joined by her Music Director Jason Howland on piano. The show takes place at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street) and all admission proceeds will go directly to the assistance of professionals in performing arts and entertainment in times of need, crisis or transition.
Kate Shindle - about to appear as The Mad Hatter in the new Frank Wildhorn musical, Wonderland - has been seen on Broadway as Vivienne in Legally Blonde, Sally Bowles in Cabaret, and Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde. Her other New York City credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream (Helena), Sympathy Jones (Sympathy), The Woman Upstairs (Kassan), and concerts of Pippin (Leading Player, with Ben Vereen and Rosie O'Donnell), Children of Eden (Yonah), and Einstein's Dreams (Josette). Regionally, she has performed in Restoration (La Jolla), After the Fall (The Alley), Himself and Nora (The Old Globe), Into the Woods, Gypsy, The Last Five Years and The Mousetrap. Her concert performances include Carnegie Hall, Birdland, Joe's Pub, Atlanta Symphony, Cincinnati Pops. Ms. Shindle can also be heard on such recordings as Jekyll & Hyde: Resurrection, Dracula and Till Today. TV and film credits include "Gossip Girl," "White Collar," Capote, The Stepford Wives and "ATWT." Her writing has been published by Newsweek, salon.com, and The Advocate. She is a Northwestern University Graduate, Eastern Regional VP of Actors Equity Association, and an aggressive advocate of marriage (and other kinds of) equality for all.
