Johnston, Kind, Xanadu Set for 'Celeb Autobiography' 9/10

"Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words," the acclaimed long-running Los Angeles-based comedy sensation comes to New York for the first time in a special one-night-only "Best Of" event to benefit The Actors' Fund on Monday, September 10.  "Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words," where actors interpret the actual words and stories written by the famous and the infamous, will feature two-time Emmy Award winner Kristen Johnston, Richard Kind, Xanadu stars Tony Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson, Jackie Hoffman and Mary Testa, plus Seth Rudetsky (The Ritz), Jack Plotnick ("Reno: 911"), Dayle Reyfel and creator Eugene Pack.

"Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words," was created by Emmy nominated writer and performer Eugene Pack.  As Pack explains, "I would listen to a lot of books-on-tape, particularly autobiographies, and was astounded at what people would write about. When I would get a hold of one of these books and read it out loud to friends, they'd insist I was making it up. But people actually wrote these words!  So I decided to put the material up in front of an audience, knowing that it would be extremely entertaining."

In 2005, "Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words," premiered on Bravo-TV as a one-hour comedy special (with a cast that featured Bruce Vilanch, Jay Mohr, Cheryl Hines, Kevin Nealon, Doris Roberts, Fred Willard, Julie Brown, Niecy Nash, Kel Mitchell, Laraine Newman and Andrea Martin), receiving enthusiastic raves across the boards.  After nearly a decade and over 300 different bios, "Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words," has given actors the opportunity to celebrate other performers and audiences evenings of non-stop laughter.
