Tuesday, May 6 Tammy Faye Starlite - Where Is America Going? as Part of Joe's Pub "We The People Series" in Association with The Onion. Visit:
http://www.tammyfayestarlite.com for more information.
Tammy Faye Starlite, country chanteuse-cum-evangelist, brings her sweet gospel chansons to the stage of Joe's Pub in order to pray for our country and to implore the heathens, pagans and sinners of New York City to elect a leader who will follow the dictates of a Southern Baptist Lord and lead us into the ultimate battle of Armageddon (we're already on our way, thanks to our current, divine and uniquely articulate President) which will ultimately bring about the Second Coming of Christ. With songs by Amy Grant, Loretta Lynn, Bob Dylan (the Christian version) and brand new Tammy Faye originals, she hopes to unite these fragmented 48 contiguous United States (Alaska and Hawaii don't count - their indians look different than real Americans) and help make this a truly Christian nation, the way Jesus intended, as stated in Matthew 2:13: "And ye shall elect a leader who will protect the sanctity of life, and perpetuate an overtly heterosexual, gun-loving, bellicose culture of abstinent, Aetna-insured imperialists." Songs will include, "Where Is America Going?," "Saved," "El Shaddai," and Tammy's own, "White As Snow," "Left In the Dust," and "God Is A Good Kind Of Cancer."
