Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today that its world premiere of Asuncion, the new comedy written by and starring Academy Award-nominee Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), will extend its run at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street). Originally scheduled to close on November 27, Asuncion will now play an additional three weeks and conclude following the Sunday, December 18th performance.
In Asuncion, Edgar and Vinny are not racist. In fact, Edgar maintains a blog condemning American imperialism and Vinny is three-quarters into a PhD in Black Studies. When a young Filipina woman named Asuncion becomes their new roommate, the pair have a perfect opportunity to demonstrate how open minded they truly are. This hilarious and heartbreaking new play explores the complicated ways we exploit culture and politics for our own needs.

Camille Mana making her Off-Broadway debut in the title role. Performances began at The
Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) on October 12 and it officially opened on October 27.

Students (with valid ID) may purchase $20 tickets (limited to 2) and non-students under the age of 30 (ID required) may purchase $25 tickets in person at the box office 45 minutes prior to each performance. Tickets are based on availability on a first come, first served basis. Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday from 4pm to 8pm, Saturday from 4pm to 8pm, and Sunday from 1pm to 3pm.
