Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Javier Bardem may be the latest star to make a guest appearance on GLEE. According to a report in the Ausiello Files, Bardem will play a Spanish rock star who befriends 'Artie' (played by Kevin McHale).  Bardem allegedly pitched the idea to GLEE creator Ryan Murphy while the two were in production for Eat, Pray, Love.

Says Bardem in Entertainment Weekly: "We're going to rock the house...We're going to do some heavy metal - Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst."

Last season welcomed special guest stars Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Neil Patrick Harris (to name a few). Rumors are that Susan Boyle and Justin Timberlake will be appearing in next season, as well.

"Glee" ended its first season on June 8th and will re-start begin production later this summer. The second season will begin in September on Tuesdays at 8/7c and later move to Wednesdays in the spring. The series has been given the post-Super Bowl spot on February 6, 2011. A third season has already been ordered.

GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are co-creators of the series. Murphy, Falchuk and Dante di Loreto serve as executive producers, while Ian Brennan serves as co-executive producer.
