Acclaimed comic genius Jackie Hoffman is set to appear in the presentation of Addictions, three new one-act plays by Tricia Walsh-Smith, on Monday, April 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Promenade Theatre (2162 Broadway at 76th Street). She is joining previously announced cast members Chris Sarandon, Trudie Styler and Jessica Hecht in the one-night-only benefit performance for Caron Treatment Centers, an internationally recognized leader in the treatment of addiction to alcohol and drugs. Addictions, which delves into the lives of three very different women and their dependencies, will be directed by Peter DuBois, Producing Director of the Public Theatre.

Jackie Hoffman has appeared in numerous films including John Waters' "A Dirty Shame," "Garden State," "Legally Blonde 2," "Kissing Jessica Stein," "Mo' Money," and "Freaky Friday." Her theatre credits include Broadway's "Hairspray," "The Book of Liz" (Obie Award for Best Actress), "Straight Jacket" (Playhouse 91), "Incident at Cobbler's Knob" (Lincoln Center), "One Woman Shoe," Second City (Jeff Award, Best Actress), and numerous solo shows. Her many TV appearances include "Starved," "Hope & Faith," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," and "Strangers with Candy."

Tricia Walsh-Smith, author of the British play "Bonkers," wrote Addictions after her youngest brother Kevin took his own life in October 2000. Tricia and her family realized that the tragic event was the result of his longtime addiction to alcohol, and it is her hope that this play might help other suffering addicts.

Caron is consistently listed among the top five addiction providers in the United States, and offers a full range of services that include early intervention and assessment, residential treatment and outpatient counseling and aftercare. A not-for-profit organization founded over 45 years ago, Caron treats nearly 5,000 individuals and families annually. The proceeds raised by the reading of Addictions will go into the Kevin Walsh Scholarship Fund, which will provide rehabilitation treatment for those who cannot afford it.

Tickets for Addictions are priced from $350. For tickets or further information, please call 212-371-3220 ext: 6152.
