The Jewish National Fund's greater New York zone will host its annual Tree of Life Award Gala on September 18, 2006 at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center. The event will raise funds to rebuild and renew northern Israel.

The ceremony will honor R. Greenwald, president of Metropolitan College of New York; Rabbi Mark S. Golub, president/CEO of Russian Television Network of America and Shalom TV; and Jonathan and Michelle Aufzien of Astria Capital, LLC. "All three will be recognized for their creativity, commitment, and ongoing contributions to Jewish life," according to press materials.

Jake Ehrenreich, creator of A Jew Grows in Brooklyn, and Jana Robbins, of Gypsy and The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, will perform. There will also be a raffle with prizes from American Airlines, Elizabeth Arden and HAS Advantage, among others. "Money raised will benefit JNF's campaign to make northern Israel home again for the residents affected by the recent war with Hezbollah."
