JERSEY BOYS Raises More Than $40,000 for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation

JERSEY BOYS, the Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning international hit musical, has raised $43,521 to benefit New York Public Schools through the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.

As part of the Broadway company's five-year anniversary on November 6, 2010, JERSEY BOYS pledged to donate a dollar from each ticket sold to an October performance. The money raised exceeds their goal, helping to restore the instrumental music education program at PS 85 in the Bronx and the additional funds will go toward a second VH1 Save The Music Foundation grant recipient school.

JERSEY BOYS, written by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Des McAnuff, and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo, is now playing at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street).

The New York production of JERSEY BOYS, which opened to critical acclaim on Sunday, November 6, 2005 and recently celebrated five years on Broadway, remains among Broadway's top selling musicals and is the longest running show in the history of the August Wilson Theatre, where it has played over 2,000 performances. JERSEY BOYS has been seen by over 11 million people across the world and has a worldwide gross of over $972 Million (as of September, 2010). The show is currently playing in New York, Las Vegas, London, Sydney and across the U.S. on a national tour.

JERSEY BOYS is the recipient of the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical and the 2009 Olivier Award for Best Musical. The Original Broadway Cast Recording, produced by Bob Gaudio, received the 2006 Grammy Award® for Best Musical Show Album and has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The Broadway production also won the 2006 Outer Critics Circle & Drama League Awards for Best Musical. The London production also won the 2009 UK People's Choice and What's on Stage Awards for Best New Musical.
