International Centre for Women Playwrights Opens Nominations for Applause Awards
International Centre for Women Playwrights (ICWP) will accept members' nominations for the 50/50 Applause Award for the 2012-2013 theatrical season (July 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013) during the first three weeks in May.
Eligibility comprises a range of criteria including the following:
At least 50% of the plays produced during the year must be the work of female playwrights.
At least 50% of the total number of performances during the July 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013 window must be the work of female playwrights.Only ICWP members may nominate theaters for this award.
Theaters that qualify may contact ICWP with their information to seek nomination, and people may also join ICWP in order to nominate theaters. Once nominated, theaters will be asked to provide information confirming eligibility, and a committee of volunteers will verify that information.
