Impressionism, the new American play by Michael Jacobs, will close at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on Sunday May 10 after the matinee performance. It will have played 23 previews and 56 regular performances.

Impressionism stars Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons and is directed by Jack O'Brien. The cast features Marsha Mason, André De Shields, Michael T. Weiss, Aaron Lazar, Margarita Levieva and Hadley Delany. It opened on March 24 2009; previews began on February 28.

Impressionism's creative team is Scott Pask (scenic design), Catherine Zuber (costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design), Elaine McCarthy (projection design) and Leon Rothenberg (sound design). Original music is by Bob James.

The production marks Ms. Allen's first return to Broadway since The Heidi Chronicles in 1989, and Mr. Irons' first time on Broadway since The Real Thing in 1984.

Impressionism is the story of a world traveling photojournalist and a New York gallery owner who discover each other and also that there might be an art to repairing broken lives.

Tickets are available via Telecharge at www.telecharge.com or by phone at (212) 239-6200 and at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre Box Office (236 W. 45 St.).

Jeremy Irons is appearing with the permission of Actors' Equity Association.
