It was rock n' roll week on American Idol tonight. This year we have not seen a rocker in the top 10 so this week was sure to be interesting.

Burnell kicked off the show singing Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi. It was a really great change and I think he did a great job. Burnell had a great rock voice that for many may have been a surprise. The judges saw that he was not very comfortable with the genre but gave positive comments as well.

A Crazy Little Thing Called Love was then performed by Lazaro and Angie. This was a good duet and I think that Lazaro fit in instead of being outshined. On the downside, Lazaro had trouble with the lyrics again.

Kree was next and she took on Janis Joplin's Another Piece of My Heart. It was a great performance of a classic song. The judges loved it as well and commeded her for the song choice.

Janelle put on a southern twist to Billy Joel. It was a good performance of a song that I have only heard once before. I would really like to see Janelle throw away her country sound for a week and do something a bit different. The judges liked the performance but complimented her fashion sense more than the performance.

Up next was Lazaro who has been struggling for the past couple of weeks. He chose to sing We Are The Champions. It was actually a pretty good performance and Lazaro may be starting a streak of good performances. It was a big improvement. The judges really enjoyed it as well as giving him the first positive feedback he has received in a while.

A trio was next with Janelle, Amber and Kree. It was a song that I did not recognize but nonetheless it was a good performance. Amber and Kree sounded great together but unfortunately Janelle did not quite go well together with Kree and Amber's voices. She seemed a bit out of it throughout the performance.

I Can't Get No Satisfaction was the song choice for Candice. As always she was fantastic. If it is at all possible, it seems as though Candice is getting better and better each week. She has the ability to change up her performance each week and I think that will get her to the final two.

Amber sang What About Love. It was a pretty good performance but we have seen better from Amber.

The last solo performance of the night belonged to Angie and Bring Me to Life by Evanescence. It was one of the best performances of the night. That is one of my favorite songs and she lived up to the fantastic voice of Amy Lee.

Tune in tomorrow night when another contestant is sent home and to see more performances!
