Heather Bullach Wins Canton Arts District All-Stars Exhibition for 'Going Out' Oil Painting

By:

Heather Bullach with her oil painting "Going Out" was voted the 2015 winner of the Canton Arts District All-Stars Exhibition at the November 6, Canton First Friday event, chosen by votes from the 400+ audience. The new All-Stars competition attracted over 80 participating artists who have exhibited artwork in the Canton Arts District.

Heather Bullach is a portrait and landscape artist. Working primarily in oils, her style ranges from tight realism to expressive impressionism. Whether painting an accurate likeness or a landscape inspired by her rural Ohio surroundings or frequent visits to Charleston, SC, capturing an essence and mood beyond the physical surface is her focus. She earned her bachelors degree in art at Malone University in 2011. Her work is widely exhibited around northeast Ohio, including three solo exhibitions since 2011. Her awards include The Mary Ellen McFadden Award for artistic achievement in 2011, and The Ohio Watercolor Society 2010 Scholarship. She currently teaches painting at Malone University and resides in Dalton, Ohio.

"Portraits are my first love. I aim to catch a beauty that goes beyond the physical: to show the spirit of those I paint," said Heather. "Thank you to everyone who came out and voted. I am deeply grateful for the support. And I couldn't be prouder to be a part of such an amazing arts community."

Heather's work is currently on display at Second April Galerie and Studios in Canton, OH. 324 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton OH 44702

As the the winning artist she will receive a feature profile in About Magazine, a special ARTe e-blast dedicated to their artwork sent to thousands of subscribers, a gift card to Pat Catan's Prizm Art Store, an Artist Spotlight with WHBC's Ron Ponder show on Friday 11/13/15 at 11:35am and a feature in the @CantonMuseum quarterly magazine.

Special thank-you to the event sponsors: About Magazine, ARTe Project, ArtsInStark, and 1480 WHBC Talk Radio.
