HEDDA GABLER Will Be Performed By Modern Classics Theatre Company With Cast Talkback
Henrik Ibsen's psychological drama runs at BACCA Arts Center in Lindenhurst, NY
The Modern Classics Theatre Company of Long Island invites audiences to experience the gripping psychological drama of Hedda Gabler this May at the BACCA Arts Center. Running May 16 through May 31, this production brings Henrik Ibsen's iconic masterpiece to life with a fresh and intimate perspective.
As part of its run, Modern Classics Theatre Company will host a special post-performance talkback event titled "Gab with the Cast of Hedda Gabler" on Sunday, May 24, immediately following the matinee performance. This unique opportunity invites audience members to engage directly with the cast, gaining insight into the characters, themes, and creative process behind the production.
The talkback aims to foster conversation about the play's enduring relevance, the challenges of bringing such a psychologically rich story to the stage, and the actors' personal journeys in portraying these complex roles.
Often described as one of the most complex roles in the theatrical canon, Hedda is a woman caught between societal expectations and her own restless desires. As the daughter of a general navigating a stifling marriage and an unfulfilled life, Hedda's story unfolds with tension, manipulation, and emotional depth that continues to resonate with modern audiences.
