Lincoln Center Theater will present the world premiere of Richard Greenberg's new play The House in Town, directed by Doug Hughes, beginning performances Wednesday, May 24 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. Opening night of The House in Town will be Monday, June 19 at 6:45pm.
Set in the early months of 1929 in a townhouse on Millionaire's Row (23rd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues) in New York, The House in Town is an intimate portrait of a marriage. The cast of five will feature Becky Ann Baker (Rabbit Hole, Assassins), Dan Bittner, Mark Harelik (The Light in the Piazza), Jessica Hecht (Julius Caesar) and Armand Schultz (A View from the Bridge). The production will have sets by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Catherine Zuber, lighting by Brian MacDevitt and sound design and original music by David van Tieghem.Playwright Richard Greenberg returns to Lincoln Center Theater where his play Everett Beekin was produced, also in the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. He is currently represented on Broadway with the new production of his play Three Days of Rain, winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critics, Olivier and Drama Desk Awards. He won the Tony, NY Drama Critics, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel and Drama League Awards for Best Play for Take Me Out.
